Media Carnival Wednesday

As well as the all important game on yesterday the Warriors were also making themselves media whores.  Before the game Kerryman Tadgh Kenneally met with and spoke about the Irish team.  See the clip at the link below.

I’d take exception to his tongue in cheek remark about the Irish  taking it seriously this time and only drinking five out of seven nights a week! The only thing our boys are drinking at the moment is water and something like Sun Warrior protein shakes.  Anyway it was good to get Tadgh out supporting us.

After the game the team along with the Irish women’s team, the Banshees went to Darling Harbour to appear on the Channel 10 weather at 6pm.  We sang our team song and had a whole three minutes air time!

After that we had an official reception with the Irish consulate in Sydney.  It was a chance for me to meet the Banshee players for the first time as they only arrived at the weekend.  They are all very excited to be here and had a great result in their opening game, defeating Canada.  It’s looks like they are in with a real chance of winning the women’s competition, how exciting would it be to have an Irish double!

If that was not enought media here’s another story about the team from the Melbourne broadsheet the Age last week.
